How to do it:

  1. Put your phone on airplane mode, do not disturb or turn it OFF.

  2. Allow your mind to unplug from the buzzing of social media, what other people are doing, and the latest news.

  3. Take this time to slow down, to tune in with your body, look up a self care ritual, go outside in nature, and just be.

The most beneficial time to unplug is for the first hour open waking, and the hour before sleep. This allows your body to adjust to its natural cycles.

Why do it:

Technology addiction is powerful but it does have a power-off button. When we unplug, we give ourselves the time and space to decompress and recharge. This ritual helps remove unhealthy feelings of jealousy, envy, and loneliness. It assists us in being present with the life that is happening right in front of us. It also helps us regain our ability to focus for longer periods of time. The stimulation of our screens frazzles our ability to focus.
