Spilling Water for Luck
A Momentum ritual as Affirmation
How to do it:
This ritual can be practiced as a person leaves to go on a journey, to do a job, when going to school, on an exam, for a job interview, or, going into the army.
As the person is departing, spill a cup of water out the door behind them.
At the very act of spilling water recite the affirmation: "Let them go clean and clear as water."
Why do it:
In the ethnology of the Balkan Peninsula countries, it is considered that spilled or running water symbolizes mobility and ease of movement, since it does not stop or get stuck, and so spilling of water is done so that the job someone started would go as smoothly as the spilled water.
