Morning Coffee

An Intention ritual for Presence and Energy

How to do it:

  1. While going through your daily coffee routine, whether you make it at home or buy it from a cafe, take a moment to pause and come into a space of gratitude.

    • If you make your own coffee, bring your mind fully to each step and do it in sequence, the same way, each time.

  2. When done, or your coffee has arrived, hold your coffee in your hands, before taking a sip, smell it and feel the warmth.

  3. Say aloud, or in your head, three things you want to do or create with the energy you will receive from this bean brew.

    What specifically is this coffee going to fuel in the next couple of hours? What do you want to get done today? Set some intentions.

  4. With gratitude still alive inside of you, enjoy your coffee!


Why do it:

Turn a daily routine, and addictive habit, which can become mindless and automatic, into a meaningful, intentional ritual.

Coffee is a powerful substance and as we know, gives our system an energy boost. Deciding what we are going to do with the energy received, helps us to focus on what it is we are wanting to do or create and invites our awareness to get energized along with the body.
