How to do it:

  1. Find a wearable object or piece of jewelry that attracts your attention, or feels good.

  2. Hold the object in your hands, close your eyes, and picture yourself doing the action that the bracelet reminds you of. Really feel the feeling of what happens when you do this thing.

  3. Speak aloud or think to yourself, “This bracelet (object) is my guide to remember to _____” “With this bracelet (object), I will ________”

  4. Put it on and speak, “So Mote it Be.”

Examples: to breathe, smile, relax tension, overcome something, compliment someone, be grateful for the moment, a goal or ritual you have, call someone you love, etc

Why do it:

Our conscious mind can hold up to 7 things before we start forgetting. Even the simplest or most important of things. After that, we have to do heavier brain work to pull it back to focus, which means losing energy and time. Having cues, such a bracelet or hanging note, removes the effort expended to keep the important things present.

When to do it:

Once, variable

How long it takes:

<2 min

Materials needed:

An object; bracelet, talisman, tattoo, note
